ある朝私は、街角のトムの店で腰掛けて、カウンターごしに珈琲が注がれるのを待っている

Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

私が話しかけもしないのに、その手が途中で止まり、窓越しに見えた誰かが入ってくるのを見つめてる

Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter

カウンターの中から　「いらっしゃいませ。毎度」

To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella

入って来たのは女性

傘を振ってしずくを落とす

And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos

別の方を見ると、挨拶のキスを交わす二人

I'm pretending
Not to see them
Instead
I pour the milk

そしらぬ顔で、私はミルクを注ぐ

I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor

新聞を開けば、俳優の話

Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of

お酒を飲んでいるときに死んだそう

いままで名前を聞いたこともなかったけれど

And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies

そして、星占いのページへ

漫画はどこだったかな

When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head

誰かに見られているような気がして

顔を上げてみる

There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?

店の外の女性がこちらを覗き込んでいる

私を見ているの？

No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection

違うわね、私を見てるわけじゃない

ガラスに映る自分の顔をみてるだけ

And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt

スカートを引き上げている彼女に、気づかれないようにするわ

And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Has gotten wet

ストッキングの歪みを直しているあいだに、彼女の髪は濡れてしまう
